You are probably thinking about taking your cub to the community park every once in a while, just to get out of the house. The first few months after your cub was born, of course, he/she cannot walk. However, it would be great for them to feel the natural air. I recommend, taking a stroll through the community park every once in a while, just to allow your cub experience going outside and getting some natural vitamin D. Yes, i know, your cub will not remember a thing, but you can share those moments once they are older. By the time your cub is older (I would say once they start walking), you probably will try to find new things to do for entertainment. Here is where a stroll in the park might come in mind. The city park or community park is pretty simple to consider as an outdoor activity. Some must haves for the park are:
sunblock: It may sound funny and not true, but it is very important. The UV radiation that the Sun provides is no joke. Sunburn and sun cancer is a real thing. Here are some good sunblock brands great for your little cub.
Babo Botanicals: SPF 50. Natural Zinc Oxide. For extra sensitive skin on babies and kids face and body. Fragrance Free. Water resistant.
Thinkbaby: SPF 50+. Baby Mineral sunscreen. Safe, natural sunblock for babies. Water-resistant, broad-spectrum UVA/UVB Sun protection.
Babyganics: SPF 50 Baby sunscreen spray. UVA and UVB protection. Water resistant and unscented.
Aveno: Baby Continuous Protection Zinc Oxide Mineral. Sunscreen Lotion for Sensitive skin, broad Spectrum SPF 50. Tear-free, sweat and water resistant.
On a side note. There are sunblock products that are liquid, others are roll ons and even spray. I personally like the roll ons because you can see where you applied, and you do not really have to spread the sunblock with your hand.
water containers: Water water water. Yes, water is crucial to human survival. One can live only days without water. Humans are made up of approximately 80% water. When you are outside, you sweat, and the sweat is a release of water from your body to try to keep your warm. Due to the release, you need to drink water to balance out what was lost. Keep your cub ready for anything.
hat: You should consider having your cub wear a hat, just to limit the amount of contact of the UV radiation to your cubs’ head. But let’s be honest, you really don’t think about this item off the top of your head.
Travel first aid kit: Say what? Yes, first aid kit. If your cub is like mine, being on the ground with a random booboo is part of the routine. I keep one in my car, just in case.
Extra clothes: Those cubs, sweat, and when they sweat the smell. Keep spare clothes in the car, you never know.
Remember: You do you but keep your cubs safe; it’s a tough and cruel world.
