Oh my …, this stage for your cub is very unsupportable and may be frustrating for you. Teething time is associated to soothing sore gums. The typical signs that can easily associate to teething is a lot of drooling, if your cub is crying and wakes up every 2-3 hours, chewing on objects, slight change in temperature. Now, the question is, what is the best way to soothe sore gums?
Rubbing you baby’s gum: Soothing gels
Keep it cool: frozen washcloths, cold spoons, cold teething toys.
Remedies: Acetaminophen or teething tablets.
Let’s focus on soothing gels. There are few brands of soothing gels that I recommend.
Mommy’s Bliss: This soothing gel comes in a day and night combo. This product has organic ingredients (most importantly chamomile). You just add a tap on your finger and rub on you cubs’ gums.
Orajel Baby: This gel comes in a twin pack (day and night combo). You apply a tab of gel to your cub’s gum with a max. of four times a day. I recommend using this closer to the evening/nighttime since you might not be available to hold a teething toy or remedies at all times.
Dr. Talbot: This item is having a less finger to gum contact for your cub. You would add a tab to the unique pacifier, put the pacifier into your cubs’ mouth and just moving it around so that your cub can “bit or chew” on the pacifier for a while. This is safe and easy to clean.
Hylands Baby Naturals: This product also has a day and night combo.
Now keep in mind that what might work for your cub does not mean the same product will work on others.
Now, remedies (teething tablets). These are a few brands of tablets I recommend.
Mommy’s Bliss: You use two tablets at a time in a time frame of two hours.
Orajel: A combo product for day and night tablets. You may give your cub two tablets every hour, up to ten tablets a day. What I like most about these tablets is that it has vitamin D. Vitamin D is very important for your cub’s growth especially the first few months of life.
Dr. Talbot: Helps calm relax and smooth uncomfortable babies of teething. These tablets includeschamomile. You take one or two tablets and let it dissolve in your cub’s mouth. This table can be taken every four hours.
The soothing gel and tablets can be used simultaneously. I recommend using both. Let your cub tell you when the discomfort is approaching. Also, if your cub is crying, it does not always mean that it is a teething problem; keep track on your cubs eating time frame.
